Halloween, obchodzone corocznie 31 października, ma bogatą historię sięgającą ponad 2000 lat. Jego początki można odnaleźć w starożytnym celtyckim święcie Samhain, które oznaczało koniec sezonu zbiorów i początek zimy. Its origins can be traced to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead became blurred, allowing spirits to return to earth. To ward off these spirits, people would light bonfires and wear costumes.

In the 8th century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1st as All Saints' Day, incorporating some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before became known as All Hallows' Eve, and eventually Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a community-centred holiday characterized by trick-or-treating, carving jack-o'-lanterns, festive gatherings, and donning costumes.

Today, Halloween is celebrated in many countries worldwide, blending ancient traditions with modern customs. It remains a night filled with spooky fun, creativity, and a touch of the supernatural.
